Building Rome in a day: Latin as the foundations of European language
Is Latin a dead language, or a ghost that continues to haunt us with its linguistic impact? This course seeks to explore the foundations of the language that was spoken throughout a global empire for over a millennium (and beyond) and develop the ability to read ancient texts. Enhance your understanding of grammar and syntax to unlock the workings of the keystone of most European languages.
Meet the Tutor
Sasha became a keen classicist at secondary school, and has since taught Latin, Greek, Ancient History, and Classical Civilisation since 2015. His Classics degree at the University of Exeter focused on the Latin and Greek languages alongside cultural studies in ancient history, philosophy, and science. He hopes to show the vast range of possible studies within the classics, with special focus on the ancient languages and Roman epic poetry, and the great benefits they can give to students from all backgrounds.
